How I Clean my Microwave

HOW I CLEAN MY MICROWAVE

Most, if not, all kitchens have a microwave! We don't use ours everyday, but it definitely get used!

I admit it! I don't clean my microwave every week, I'm actually horrible about cleaning it!

Here's all you need...YUP that's it! A bowl of water, lemon & microfiber cloth.

Cut a lemon in half and squeeze the lemon juice into a microwave safe bowl.

Add bowl and microwave 5 minutes. If your microwave is really bad, you can do it longer.

Remove bowl, be careful! It will be hot!

Wipe the insides down with a microfiber cloth! Start on the top, move to the sides, then the bottom...don't forget the glass plate!

And it's all done! It only took about 10 minutes total, and that's with the 5 minute of microwaving the water!

Don't forget the outside! I clean the outside while my bowl is "cooking"

I like to spray my front with Basic-G to disinfect and clean any grime that may be lurking!

After editing the pictures, I realized how badly I missed the buttons on the front! I went back over them and cleaned them up :)

  5. Great tip! I HATE cleaning the microwave. I always have to put so much effort into it because I am a shorty and my microwave is hung above the stove, so I can barely reach the back of it without practically sitting on the stove lol. I definitely think this'll make my job easier.

  7. I also use water and vinegar but phew it gets pretty strong after 5 minutes. I'll have to use the lemon method to see which I like better. Think the lemon will sure smell better.
I don't do mine as often as I should as we use our microwave pretty much every day, several times a day. Great tip.

  11. I think you have the same microwave that I do! I'm not sure what my husband uses when he cleans it. Is the lemon just for the scent?
